Lydie Surget, M.S.

Lydie Surget

Part-Time Lecturer
Chemistry

My name is Lydie Surget, and I’m excited to be part of your learning journey. My approach to teaching is student-
centered, and I believe in actively engaging you in developing concepts and problem-solving skills through real-time, hands-on activities.

I enjoy studying about how people learn and how to include the science of learning into the courses I teach.  I’m continually
trying to improve the design of the courses I teach to foster student engagement and success. My goal is to facilitate your success, and I’m committed to supporting you every step of the way.

Come to my office in Klein building to get extra help!

Chemistry is my passion but I am also teaching French in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Translation of UNC Charlotte. You can find me in Mebane building in my second office if needed!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, sailing on lake Norman, swimming, kayaking, travelling, reading, and volunteering at the Alliance Française de Charlotte. I am the president of the Alliance Française since 2018.  I am married and have two adult children.
Please reach out to me at any time during the semester by email or in person. I enjoy getting to know my students outside of the classroom!
